The director of CMUS, Christian Spencer, will participate in the II International Congress of the Peruvian Association of Musicology in Lima next Tuesday, August 12. In his paper entitled “Horacio Salinas and the folkloric roots guitar in Chile (1984-2001)” he seeks to reopen the discussion on the concept of “folkloric roots”. His presentation will take place at Table 2 “Latin American Guitar Landscapes: from organology to the social life of the musical instrument”.

The Congress is co-organized with the National University of Music, which will act as venue, and will be held from August 11 to 15. The inaugural lecture will be given by Dr. Leonardo Waisman from the University of Córdoba, and throughout the conference there will be national and international presentations, as well as book and magazine launches.
