La Sociedad Chilena de Musicología junto al Instituto de Música de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile invitan a enviar propuestas de ponencias para ser presentadas en las X Jornadas de Investigadores Musicales Emergentes y en Formación, que tendrá lugar durante los días viernes 24 y sábado 25 de octubre de 2025 en el Campus Oriente de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The event will also be sponsored by CMUS.

The call points out: “These sessions seek to enable students pursuing their degrees, as well as emerging researchers, to present and discuss their academic work from any field or disciplinary confluence whose central focus is music or its agents, in any of its various dimensions.”

Submission format Proposals should include the following:
• Title of the presentation
• Name
• Abstract of 200 to 300 words, considering 1) problem, objective or hypothesis of the work 2) methodology 3) theoretical framework and
4) conclusions or partial results
• Keywords (three to five)
• References
• Brief curriculum vitae (maximum 100 words)

Both files must be sent in .docx or .odt format no later than August 29, 2025 to the following emails: presidencia.schm@gmail.com and secretaria.schm@gmail.com

Evaluation
The proposals will be evaluated by the Reading Committee, whose decision will be announced on September 12, 2025, and will be final. Selected applicants must confirm their participation no later than September 30, 2025.

Travel Grants
In order to encourage the participation of researchers from the regions and abroad, the Board of Directors of the Chilean Society of Musicology will provide a limited number of travel grants for those who do not reside in the Metropolitan Region. Each grant will consist of a maximum amount of $80,000 (CLP) to cover travel and accommodation costs. Those who require this assistance can report it when submitting their proposals or no later than September 16, 2025, by attaching the following completed and signed PDF form. The result of your application will be announced on September 25th, and grants will be distributed during the workshops.

Other information
