Daniela Fugellie is currently conducting a research residency at the University of Regensburg (Germany) and has two activities planned for next week. On Tuesday, October 21, she will give a lecture entitled “Music at the Service of Social Transformation: Reinterpretations and Translations of the European Repertoire in 21st-Century Chile.” On Friday, October 24, she will offer a workshop with Dr. Katelijne Schiltz (Department of Musical Studies) on issues in the history of Latin American classical music for students of the Institute of Musicolog

The CMUS researcher began her stay in Germany with the conference Sounds of Fascism. Media, Practices, Imagination , at the University of Bonn where he gave the presentation “Collecting Germanness: the Deutsches Ausland-Institut and Nationalist Networks of German Music in Chile, 1933-1945” with Joao Romao (Freie Universität Berlin) on September 26. He then took a break to travel to the University of Valladolid where he presented “The ‘Serialism’ of Mario Alfagüell (*1948): Outline of a Situated Musical Analysis” at the 5th MUSAM Congress. Transatlantic Dialogues: Discourses and Analytical Strategies on Ibero-American Music, on Friday, October 3.

Upon returning to Germany, Daniela Fugellie participated in the 77th German Musicological Society Conference with the presentation “Reconstructing Germanness: The Deutsches Ausland-Institut and the Nationalist Networks of German Music in Chile, 1933–1945” alongside João Romão on October 7. Finally, she moderated the concert “On Disappearance / Über das Verschwinden,” dedicated to contemporary works by Latin American composers. Part-Ensemble in Düsseldorf on Saturday, October 11.
