Carla Pinochet will teach workshops on Cultural Policy Models
Carla Pinochet will lead the workshop “Models of Cultural Policy” on August 5 and 12 at the Usach Cultural Corporation as part of Winter Workshops, a virtual program for critical and reflective cultural work. The initiative is aimed at providing tools to art and culture workers.
The CMUS alternate director will speak about models of cultural policy and cultural democracy, working conditions in the sector, and the role of institutions, the market, and the public. This module will offer an introduction to the field of cultural management from a critical perspective situated in Latin America. Over two sessions, the main models of cultural policy—specifically, the transition from democratization to cultural democracy—and the conceptual frameworks that allow for the analysis of the processes of production, distribution, and reception in the cultural cycle will be explored. Working conditions in the sector and the role of institutions, the market, and audiences will be addressed, providing tools for understanding the current dynamics of artistic and cultural management.
The modules will be delivered remotely so that those interested can connect from anywhere in the country. The following modules are: Programming: Content and Programs to Ensure Access and Inclusion on August 6 and 13, led by Angie Giaverini; Cultural Spaces: The Connection with Communities, Territory, and Local Heritage on August 7, led by Carolina Bustamante; and finally, on August 14, Communications in Culture: Dissemination and Content Management by Cristina Carrillo.
