The Research in Progress Workshop, organized by the Chilean Society of Musicology and Alberto Hurtado University, will take place next Thursday, August 28th. It will be held in a hybrid format. CMUS will be present with two presentations. The first is “Quilapayún. Cassette Cultures, Cultures of Exile,” by researchers Laura Jordán and Javier Rodríguez from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The second is “The Internationalization of Blackface Minstrelsy: The Case of the “African Singers” and Their Tour of South America (1860–1861)” by Daniel Domingo (executive coordinator of CMUS) and Jan Koplow, which will follow in the next half hour.

Juan Pablo González, Carolina Valdivia, and Arturo Figueroa will also participate. The event will be moderated by academic Lorena Valdebenito and will be open to the public.
