On Monday, May 26, the 16th Music and Musicology Week was held at the Faculty of Arts and Musical Sciences of the Catholic University of Argentina. The meeting focused on Isabel Aretz (1909-2005), an Argentine-Venezuelan composer and ethnomusicologist, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her death.

Daniela Fugellie, CMUS researcher, gave the inaugural lecture “Latin American music as a performative project: meeting spaces throughout the 20th century”, in which she took the opportunity to highlight the importance of the book Latin America in its Music (1977) by Isabel Aretz herself. There were also presentations, two book presentations, a piano concert, and several lectures, among other activities.
