Daniela Fugellie will take part at Interfaces Seminar
Next Thursday, March 19, Daniela Fugellie will participate in the seminar Interfaces: Drifts Between Digitality, Performing Arts, Music, and Archives. The seminar will explore the following questions: “How can we think about the performing arts in the age of data and digitality? What happens to presence, ephemerality, and memory when the stage intersects with digital technologies?”
The principal investigator of CMUS will participate in Panel 3: Archiving the Ephemeral: Digital Humanities and Memories of the Stage, alongside Alba Saura, Ramiro Mundaca, Patrizio Gecele, and Javiera Brignardello (Arde), moderated by Nicole Larrondo (UC Digital Humanities Laboratory). In this session, Fugellie will reflect on her experiences with the database “Performers and Classical Concerts in Chile,” which aims to document Chilean musical life, especially from the 20th century onward, based on concert programs and performer biographies. She notes: “From a repository conceived as a tool for musicological research, the project has expanded to include questions about its accessibility to a more general audience. Currently, I am working with engineers Cristóbal Arrieta and Cristian Olivares on a project funded by the UAH’s Competition for the Promotion of Applied Interdisciplinary Research, developing AI applications for the site.”
The seminar is the first public milestone of the Fondecyt project “Speculative scenarios: links between digitality, archive and recent performing arts in Latin America” (Folio No. 11250946).
