The CMUS researcher presented the paper “Musiques de l’exil chileen: mémoires et création textile (XXe et XXIe siècles)” (Music of the Chilean exile: memories and textile creation (20th and 21st centuries). In this regard, the academic notes: “This initiative was part of the framework of commemorations in Chile, reflecting Laura Jordán’s and my desire to critically intervene in spaces of memory, questioning the impact and scope of musicology beyond the university margins. Although the proposal did not significantly reduce the distance between academic research and community work, it did allow us to outline a possible way of articulating specialized knowledge and collective demands. Throughout the process, our own expectations transformed, challenging traditional forms of dissemination and highlighting the inadequacy of a vertical stance to build a truly collaborative and sensitive space, as required, in this case, by collective textile practice.”
