Laura Jordán en Segundo Seminario Cuecas en la Ciudad
Laura Jordán will give the presentation “Vocal Aesthetics in Cueca Phonography: Collective Practices, Singular Imprints” at the Second Cuecas in the City Seminar on October 17 at Alberto Hurtado University. The principal investigator will be part of Panel 3, entitled “New Stories about Cueca in the City,” in which Camila Olmos and Amanda Fernández will also participate, moderated by Andrea Andreu.
“This presentation addresses various vocal traits present in recorded Chilean cueca singing, describing its aesthetics and interpreting the implications of its stylistic choices,” notes Laura Jordán.
The event, which will take place on Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17, is organized by the Entre Cuecas y Empanadas Cultural Center, Punto de Cultura, in collaboration with the Department of History and the Institute of Music of the University of Santiago de Compostela (UAH), and sponsored by the Puntos de Cultura Program, Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage.
