A new issue of the academic journal Artes en Filo was published last Friday. El dossier de música está coordinado por Martín Lut, investigador postdoctoral de CMUS y Lisa Di Cione. This includes song analysis and reflections on two recent musical scenes (Math rock and Lofi pop) that originated at a meeting of its students and young graduates last year and was sponsored by CMUS.

The introduction to the dossier reads as follows: “From the Morphology and Popular Music Studies chairs, we are facing a profound transformation within the “music” orientation of the Bachelor of Arts of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, based on the formulation and/or revision of the minimum contents proposed for both subjects. To understand the reason for this process, it is important to remember that a change in the Study Plan was carried out, approved in 2019, in which we had the opportunity to determine the new contents for some of the existing subjects and the creation of new ones, such as Popular Music Studies, among others.” The full introduction can be read at this link.
