Natalia Bieletto, a research associate at CMUS, presented her book The Music of the Carpas 1890-1930: Musical Construction of Poverty in the Murray Schafer Room of the National Sound Library. She was joined on the panel by Alejandro García Surdo, Fernando Eslava, Maby Muñoz Hénonin, and Socorro Merlín.

The book describes the historical events surrounding the development of tents, a performance movement that flourished in Mexico in the late 19th century.
