Sebastián Muñoz releases a new season of (T)rap and Technologies
The fourth season of (T)rap y Tecnologías, featuring research associate Sebastián Muñoz, has been released. Called “Frente al Escenario,” this phase explores how a love of urban music is part of a generation, creating community, as well as differences and affinities among young people in Santiago, Chile.
In this way, they ask questions such as: What role do gender, class, and personal experience play? How is taste formed and fanaticism constructed? What do artists like Pablo Chill-E, Young Cister, Movimiento Original, Kidd Voodoo, Easykid, Akriila, or Paloma Mami mean to their fans today? Through interviews, social media analysis, and participation in parties and concerts, they approach young people and bring research closer to those who inspire it.
This project is led by Javiera Muñoz, a CMUS thesis student, and is funded by the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage (folio 750714). The team is completed by Sebastián Muñoz and research assistants María Ignacia Pérez and Cristóbal Sepúlveda.
