This year the School of Listening is multiplying If it reached six educational institutions in 2024, it will now be present in 24 of them and across 10 regions in Chile. This is a CMUS project under the External Environment Outreach fund and connects with two of the research lines of our Millennium Nucleus: “Communities, Territories, and Participation” and “Education and Heritage.” The School of Listening III: Broadening Sound Horizons in Education initiative is an experimental pedagogical initiative that develops methodologies for the dissemination and transfer of social research based on sound, music, and listening. At the end of May, teacher training was held to share the sound exploration methodologies that will be used in the School of Listening workshops in the coming months.

These sessions were conducted remotely and benefited a total of 24 teachers and educators from various schools across the country.

During the virtual training, “we created a meeting space for all the teachers who will be implementing the School of Listening during this new cycle, introducing them to our methodology and training them to plan the pedagogical activities they will lead in the coming weeks,” said Carla Pinochet, CMUS Alternate Director, who led the activity alongside Executive Coordinator Daniel Domingo.
