The Listening School’s teacher’s manual will be launched at TISA
The second TISA (Transits, Exchanges, and Awareness of the Arts) event will take place on December 12th, during which the Teacher’s Manual for the School of Listening will be officially launched. Two researchers from CMUS, Daniela Fugellie and Eileen Karmy, have been invited to speak about this document.
The Teacher’s Manual focuses on music with a written tradition and aims to offer pedagogical resources for musical mediation through activities that foster sensory experimentation, cultural and identity reflection, and collaborative creation among students. Although designed as educational material to accompany the 2025 season of Educational Concerts organized by the Extension Department and the Cultural Corporation of the University of Santiago, Chile, it can be used independently in various educational contexts. It can be downloaded at this link.
TISA will be a day of profound connections between schools, museums, and the local community. In addition to the launch of the teacher’s manual, the event will feature a panel discussion with Yenny Díaz, Alejandro Mellado, Diamela Burboa, and Matías Fuentes, who will discuss their experiences in art and heritage education from museum and school perspectives.
Additionally, the Terraformations: Water Invocations (2025) tour will take place, during which participants can visit EducaMAC’s “Water Invocations” initiative: the creation of a museum garden and rainwater harvesting system. The activity will be led by Katherine Ávalos.
Finally, there will be a Didactics Roundtable, a practical session to explore and discuss educational materials, models, and research. This workshop will be led by the team from the USACH Cultural Corporation.
