The activity took place in the Ercilla Room of the National Library and included the participation of <strong>Natalia Bieletto<\/strong> (principal investigator at CMUS) and <strong>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Izquierdo<\/strong>. The result was a space for reflection on the intersections between music, the stage, and cultural circulation from a historical perspective in the three case studies presented by the scholars.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The event is part of the research project &#8220;Acrobats, Minstrels, and Animals: The Presence, Reception, and Impact of American Variety Shows in Chile During the Second Half of the 19th Century&#8221; by <strong>Daniel Domingo<\/strong>, the CMUS executive coordinator, who, along with <strong>Jan Koplow<\/strong>, was awarded the 2024 National Fund for the Promotion and Development of the Performing Arts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"> Natalia Bieletto gave the presentation &#8220;Variety Shows in the Tents of Mexico City, 1890-1930&#8221; and discussed the variety shows in traveling tents, which were one of the most important music-theatrical scenes in Mexico City at the beginning of the 20th century.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 13, the event &#8220;Scenic Transitions: Musical Practices and Moving Spectacles between the 19th and 20th Centuries&#8221; was held, organized by Daniel Domingo and Jan Koplow.
