The second workshop Musical Circulations in the Southern Cone<\/em> will be held on October 6 and 7 at the Arturo Jauretche National University, with complementary activities at the University of Buenos Aires, in the trans-Andean capital.<\/p>\n

Four members of CMUS will participate: Eileen Karmy<\/strong>, Javiera Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, Martin Liut, and Javier Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, one of the organizers of the meeting. They will be joined by Argentines Ariel Mamani<\/strong>, Julian Delgado<\/strong>, and Guillermina Guillam\u00f3n<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The first day will be dedicated to the workshop; the second day will feature a film discussion led by Mart\u00edn Far\u00edas<\/strong> and Eileen Karmy<\/strong>, director and producer of Himno<\/em>, respectively.<\/p>\n

The organization states that the objective of this second edition of the Workshop is to “consolidate a space for academic exchange around the musical and transnational dynamics that have shaped the cultural life of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. Revisiting the discussions inaugurated in the first edition\u2014held in Chile in 2024 (Santiago and Valpara\u00edso)\u2014this new event seeks to deepen the analysis of the processes of circulation of repertoires, genres, practices, actors, and media that have shaped the region’s musical scenes, from both a historical and contemporary perspective.” <\/p>\n
