The book launch for Movimiento Andino by Ignacia Cortés, PhD in Literature, will take place next Tuesday, May 12th. CMUS’s deputy director, Carla Pinochet, and anthropologist Enrique Antileo will participate in the presentation.

“The objective of this research is to characterize the development of the Andean dance circuit in the city of Santiago, which I have called the “Andean movement” to refer to the collectives made up of dancers –mostly of non-exclusive dedication, that is, they perform jobs and trades not linked to the practice of dance– who assume the practice of traditional Quechua-Aymara repertoires and Bolivian neo-folklore, as a political exercise in the context of their appearance in social demonstrations”
