Tomás Peters at XV International Seminar on Cultural Policies
Tomás Peters will attend the XV International Seminar on Cultural Policies in Rio de Janeiro. The principal researcher of CMUS will give the presentation “National Plans of Culture and Direitos: The case of Chile”. He will participate in a thematic table with Lia Calabre, Jorge Melguizo, Jazmín Beirak and Letícia Schwarz.
In this panel held on May 25, scholars will discuss the contemporary challenges of cultural policies, cultural rights, and national cultural plans in Latin America and Ibero-America.
Tomás Peters comments: “My presentation consisted of describing the recent history of cultural policies in Chile and, in particular, how they are being implemented in the current political scenario of Kast. Along with this, I addressed the problem of cultural rights in the country and how new models of cultural development can be envisioned for the future of Chile.”
