Elisa Montecinos at the Latin American Congress of Aural Studies
This Thursday, June 25, CMUS thesis student, Elisa Montecinos, will give the presentation “Walked Files: Listening and Performative Memory in AppMemories” at the Latin American Congress of Aural Studies. The CMUS thesis student will form Table 4 “Territories, memory and citizen agencies” together with Sofía Balbontín, Mathias Klenner & Andrea Ortega Simone Luci Pereira and Jesús Michel Bustos Machuca.
The researcher explains her presentation: “Based on the analysis of the work AppRecuerdos (Rimini Protokoll and Sonido Ciudad, 2017), the presentation proposes understanding the audio tour as a medial and performative practice that displaces the archive from the institution to the urban space, activating political memories through listening and bodily displacement.”
The meeting will take place between June 24 and 25 at two venues: the Cloister of Universidad Mayor and the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. Other members of CMUS will also participate, including principal investigator Andrea Chamorro and postdoctoral researcher Martín Liut, who will present with Camila Juárez.
