Martín Luit at the Latin American Congress of Aural Studies
Tomorrow, Thursday, June 25, at the Latin American Congress of Aural Studies, Martín Luit will present the paper “Aural Processes in Experimental Radio Practices in Buenos Aires in the 1990s” alongside Camila Juárez (University of Buenos Aires-UNDAV). The CMUS postdoctoral researcher will participate in Panel 3: “Phonographies,” which also includes Juliana Pérez González, Joaquín Torres, and Bruno Tavares Magalhães.
Martín Liut explains his presentation: “The aim of this paper is to describe the development of experimental sound creation for radio in Buenos Aires during the 1990s. While radio art experienced significant growth in Europe with the artistic avant-gardes, its reception, circulation, and local development have not yet been sufficiently studied. In this context, various publishing, radio, and artistic initiatives gradually fostered interest in this area, focusing on experimental practices in Buenos Aires during the late 1990s.”
The meeting will take place between June 24 and 26 at two venues: the Cloister of Universidad Mayor and the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. Other members of CMUS will also participate, including thesis student Elisa Montecinos and principal investigator Andrea Chamorro.
