This Thursday, June 24, Andrea Chamorro will present “Flows and Affecting Vibrations: Notes for the Ecology of Danced Listening” at the Latin American Congress of Aural Studies. The principal investigator at CMUS will participate in Panel 1: Embodiment and Haptic Listening, along with Ariel Grez, Angela Morales, and Gustavo Guzmán.

Andrea Chamorro explains her presentation: “I reflect on dances as ecological-cultural practices that generate reciprocal effects with other beings and with the environment. That is, I propose understanding them as practices through which dancers relate acoustically, visually, and physically to both their environment and other beings.”

The meeting will take place between June 24 and 26 at two venues: the Cloister of Universidad Mayor and the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. Other members of CMUS will also participate, including thesis student Elisa Montecinos and postdoctoral researcher Martín Liut, who will present with Camila Juárez.
