This Thursday, June 4th, and Friday, June 5th, the event Solidarity Networks: Contemporary Debates and Perspectives will take place at the Valparaíso Cultural Park Theater, organized by Laura Jordán. The CMUS researcher will also moderate the panel “Solidarity in Creation: Artistic Practices and Experiences,” which will include Macarena Goldenberg (Salvador Allende Museum of Solidarity), Paulina Caro Troncoso (Art Institute, PUCV), and Félix Cárdenas (Music Institute, PUCV).

According to the organizers, this project, led by academics from various university departments, “aims to analyze how solidarity manifests and transforms in the current context of global ‘polycrisis.’ Within this framework, the conference will bring together researchers from diverse disciplines who have addressed this issue to promote discussion and reflection. Among the topics to be addressed are historical cases of collaboration and political solidarity, a review of the relationship between care policies and civil society, solidarity experiences mediated by artistic practices, and the tensions surrounding the definition of solidarity that arise amidst the climate crisis.”

This meeting is part of the Centenary Project “Solidarities in dispute in the contemporary world” (COD. 039.787/2025) and is financed by the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Creation and Innovation PUCV.
